About the role

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Project Manager to join our team and oversee various projects in security. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating with vendors, ensuring timely project completion, maintaining grant compliance, and effectively communicating with clients and stakeholders. This role requires a combination of fieldwork and office-based responsibilities, with an emphasis on project management, client interaction, and grant assistance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and Lead Project Activities: Manage and lead on-location walkthroughs, coordinating with vendors to discuss project specifications and requirements. This includes approximately three days per week of fieldwork and two days per week of office-based work.

  • Design and Implement Security Measures: Develop and review security system designs and specifications to ensure proper installation and operation. Design security policies, programs, and practices to meet alarm response, access control, and other security needs.

  • Conduct Security Audits: Perform thorough security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities related to physical security or staff safety, ensuring compliance with applicable standards or regulations.

  • Project Management: Develop comprehensive project plans detailing objectives, funding, schedules, and staff assignments. Monitor project milestones and deliverables, propose modifications to project plans as necessary.

  • Budget and Schedule Management: Analyze budgetary data and monitor project costs to stay within budget. Schedule and oversee security design work to ensure projects are completed on time.

  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Communicate project statuses and updates to clients, stakeholders, and project staff. Liaise with vendors regarding project specifications and ensure alignment with security measures.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Support grant drafting and filing during peak grant seasons (NYS and FEMA grants) and document information related to legal proceedings.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Project Management Experience: Preferably 1-2 years of relevant experience in project management or related fields. Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, or Sprint project management methodologies is a plus; training will be provided.

  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, as well as the ability to develop technical specifications for security systems and programs.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Proficient in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to draft plans, review construction materials, compose extensive emails, and assess grant applications accurately.

  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to assess risks, analyze budgetary data, and inspect facilities and equipment to ensure specifications are met.

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to inspect fire, intruder detection, or other security systems for compliance and conduct thorough security audits.

  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to establish guidelines, policies, and standards to ensure the smooth operation of security projects.

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 (depending on experience)

Location: On-site

Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm (1 hour lunch break)
