The Agile Product Owner represents the “voice of the customer” at the team level, maintaining and prioritizing the Product Backlog, to ensure that the team is working on stories that maximize business value and deliver necessary fixes and functionality to all customers. They must have strong business skills and experience, with either some past experience working with technology teams, or the ability and interest to learn how to work with technology teams. The Agile Product Owner will be 100% allocated to this role. The incumbent owns the output of a key discipline within a function. Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and experience to set departmental goals which align with functional strategy. Focuses on achievement of departmental goals and plays a significant part in achieving functional goals.
Position Summary:
The PBS Operations Business Product Owner (BPO) is the primary liaison between business sponsors, clients, and technology teams, driving high ROI/efficiency initiatives across the division and enterprise. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of projects from end to end for new and modified business applications and products. The focus will be on Rebate tools, Pharmacy Rebate Portal, Pharmacy Forecasting, Benefit Driven Rebate Optimization (BDRO) and Medical Rebates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for Technical Product Owners (TPO) on business applications, products, or client requests.
- Help develop and implement business/technical requirements from concept to launch and oversee projects.
- Influence technical design decisions and provide technical support.
- Work with business sponsors, TPO, and System Engineering teams to define business requirements for new and updated applications, products, or client requests.
- Stay current with new technical tools and methods to support business needs in the digital BPO space.
- Use Express Scripts project tools and methodologies to drive business applications, products, or client requests.
- Attend key meetings, ceremonies, and release planning to ensure successful adoption through training or documentation.
- Regularly communicate progress and updates to stakeholders.
- Prioritize and manage workload to meet project deadlines.
Key Qualifications:
- A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience with program management or as a product owner preferred.
- Knowledge of agile methodology required.
- Proficiency in Jira preferred.
- General knowledge of Pathfinder and Polaris required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite preferred.
- Knowledge of how to create a process map preferred.
- Strong business, technical, and financial acumen preferred.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment preferred.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), facilitation, presentation, and organization skills required.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational capabilities preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well in an ambiguous environment preferred.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 96,500 - 160,900 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
