Job Summary:

Analog Devices is seeking a passionate and motivated Junior Embedded Software Architect to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to the development of innovative embedded systems at the intersection of hardware and software.

As a Junior Embedded Software Architect, you’ll collaborate with experienced engineers to help design and develop embedded software that powers advanced semiconductor solutions. You’ll gain hands-on experience with real-world hardware/software integration, while learning how architectural decisions impact product performance, power, and scalability.

What You’ll Do:

  • Contribute to System Architecture: Support the design of embedded systems that tightly integrate software with custom hardware platforms. Learn to think architecturally and understand system-level trade-offs.
  • Hardware/Software Collaboration: Work closely with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless interaction between components. Assist in analyzing hardware specifications and translating them into efficient software solutions.
  • Embedded Systems Development: Help build and optimize firmware, drivers, and low-level software for performance, reliability, and power efficiency in constrained environments.
  • Debugging & Testing: Participate in debugging hardware/software integration issues using tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. Learn to validate system behavior and performance.
  • Process & Tools Exposure: Get hands-on with industry-standard tools for embedded development, version control, simulation, and continuous integration.
  • Documentation & Communication: Create and maintain documentation to support your design and development work. Practice communicating technical ideas clearly across engineering disciplines.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Academic or internship experience with embedded systems, computer architecture, or hardware/software co-design.
  • Familiarity with C/C++ programming and interest in low-level system development.
  • Exposure to microcontrollers, FPGAs, SoC platforms, or real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Experience using Git or other version control systems in academic, personal, or internship projects.
  • Familiarity with Python or scripting for automation.
  • Curiosity about how hardware and software interact, and a drive to explore system design.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to learn, ask questions, and contribute in a collaborative environment.

Preferred (Not Required) Experience:

  • Experience contributing to or upstreaming code to open source embedded software projects such as Linux kernel, Zephyr RTOS, FreeRTOS, or similar—especially drivers, BSPs, or platform-specific code.
  • Basic experience using hardware debugging tools or simulation environments (System-C, QEMU, etc)
  • Interest in areas like IoT, wireless systems, or AI integration in embedded platforms.

Why Join Analog Devices?

  • Work on cutting-edge technologies that power real-world solutions across industries.
  • Gain mentorship from senior software and hardware architects.
  • Develop a strong foundation in e
