Pharmacy Consultant, Sales

The Pharmacy Consultant plays a critical role in educating potential customers on the advantages of Omnicell pharmacy solutions. Additionally, the Consultant will work closely with field sales to provide clinical and technical knowledge and expertise, strategy, and analysis during the sales cycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Director, Clinical Consulting West, will serve as a pharmacy domain expert to provide advice regarding the impact of company’s products and services on the customers, end-user experience.
  • Serves as clinical resource to the Regional teams to provide support to drive sales in the Division.  This includes assisting with strategy development, walk-throughs, system and workflow analysis, configurations, and customer engagements.
  • Accompany Director, Clinical Consulting West, to potential customers meetings to provide clinical and workflow expertise, Omnicell solutions and industry best practices.
  • Maintain awareness of current issues relating to the medication management process in hospitals by attending professional meetings and conferences, interaction with peers in the healthcare community, and by direct involvement in professional organizations.
  • Serve as a resource to management and staff on the issues relating to hospital practice and, more specifically, the pharmacy department and the hospitals medication management system.
  • Assist in the training and development of Pharmacy Consultants and Sales Team
  • Act as a liaison between the Marketing department the sales organization in determining practice trends and providing feedback from the field to assist in new product development
  • Attend appropriate trade shows at regional and national level
  • Lead specific projects as identified by VP/General Manager, Director, Clinical Consulting West or Executive Staff members.
  • Assist with providing education and content to other Omnicell employees through both classroom teaching and Omnicell University
  • Support the development of National consulting standards and tools
  • Assist with the strategic development of Medication Systems strategies
  • Attend assigned trade shows

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of medication management processes in acute and non-acute care settings
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work well with customers and with associates at various levels.
  • Ability to present in front of small to large audiences at all levels in the health care system.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Registered pharmacist in the US
  • B.S. in Pharmacy, Pharm.D.
  • 5+ years’ of experience in a management position of a health system pharmacy
  • 2+ years’ of experience in the operation of decentralized and/or centralized pharmacy automation equipment and software

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree desirable
  • 8+ years’ of experience in a management position of a health system pharmacy
  • 4+ years’ of experience in the operation of decentralized and/or centralized pharmacy automation equipment and software

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to travel 60-80% of the time
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time to accomplish walk-throughs, provide demonstrations and attend trade shows.
