This position will support the ongoing modernization and maintenance of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Traveler Processing Vetting Services (TPVS) program information systems. The mission objective is to provide operational support and modernization to the technology and applications supporting the processing of travelers at U.S. ports of entry. This critical program leverages agile methodologies to deliver secure, efficient, and user-friendly systems for CBP officers and the traveling public.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest, transform, and integrate data from various systems and networks, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Collaborate with cloud and system architects to establish secure and efficient data transfer protocols among different networks and systems.
- Work with data consumers to develop data requirements to support analytics and machine learning tasks.
- Implement data pipelines and data storage solutions to support analytic workflows.
- Optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, ensuring low latency and high throughput for real-time and batch data processing.
- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant data security policies and practices.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Permitted experience exchange: High School and 6 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree)
- Experience with AWS cloud native databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle etc.,)
- Experience with cloud services from providers such as AWS or Oracle and their data storage and processing services.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, PLSQL, or SQL.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or related roles
- Experience with ETL tools such as AWS Glue or Talend.
