Specialist, Software Engineer (Full Stack)

This role will work a hybrid schedule coming into the Columbus, Ohio office 2 days per week.
We are looking to hire a Specialist, Software Engineer to join the Technology Integration Platforms BSA team. This role will serve as a key liaison between internal technology teams, business units, and external partners, supporting the seamless onboarding of partners into Nationwide’s digital ecosystem.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in API development, event streams, and data integration. They will be responsible for designing, building, and delivering high-quality solutions that enable smooth integrations between external partners and Nationwide’s systems. Additionally, they will troubleshoot and resolve technical issues reported by partners and internal teams, ensuring a seamless experience.

Provide technical insights and support to teams developing digital products that include APIs, Web components and data streams
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the enterprise
Work closely with architecture team to understand and influence technical requirements and constraints
Conduct thorough reviews of partner/vendor contracts to ensure technical standards are represented
Provide technical guidance to team members
Familiar with NW tools (example; Splunk) to generate data to troubleshoot issues and guide business decisions
Ability to focus on multiple enterprise initiatives at once. We are a Enterprise team that provides consultation and support to all business units (NF, P&C, Pet, etc.)
Technical skills:
Full stack development experience
Java / Springboot and Angular development
Microservices / REST APIs
Cloud Native applications in AWS or Azure
Docker container architecture managed by Kubernetes
CI/CD pipeline enablement
Experience with Apigee is a plus
Compensation Grade: F5
