Senior Test Engineer

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated person responsible for leading web application/web services testing projects. The successful candidate will be well versed in Software Testing and have a deep understanding and experience with Software Development Life Cycle and Data Management. He/she will work collaboratively with all entities involved in the project and will serve as a lead for the communication with testers, developers, program leadership, staff, and the client.

 

Primary Roles and Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

 

• Utilize technical skills to develop test plans, test cases/scripts, test automation• Execute test cases and document test execution artifacts• Develop, implement, and track project metrics to report testing status • Understand the use cases and business rules related to the system developed to communicate effectively with the client, stakeholders, and engineers.• Develop and execute test cases for Section 508 compliance• Provide input to develop and maintain the project plan and schedule to meet all project objectives • Perform basic database queries to validate backend expected results• Manage test assignments and results for the team through JIRA• Work within an Agile process through Sprint planning/close, and scrum meetings• Prepare material for customer meetings as required• Document project decisions and risks, socialize them with the product owner• Provide support for production outages, and product deployments• Provide test planning and execution estimates for new development activities • Effectively communicate to other team members information regarding code defects, code releases, requirements, acceptance criteria and environments status and needs• Mentor and assist junior software testing team members

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 14+ years of experience or a Master's with 12+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance.
• Great customer relationship building and people skills.
• Strong software testing experience.
• Working experience with Jira, SCRUM, Selenium
• Expertise in Agile principles

 

Desired Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

• Active Public Trust Security Clearance
• Experience working in a deadline-driven environment, handling and prioritizing multiple tasks.
• Works under general direction, independently determines and develops approach to solutions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively across all levels of staff and management.
• Advanced level knowledge of Jira, SQL, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
• Experience in System Architecture & Design.
• Familiarity with government environments and standards is desired.
• Experience with Cloud and DevOps principles is a plus.

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
