Associate Director, Clinical Scientist, Oncology

The Role:
Moderna seeks an experienced Associate Director Clinical Scientist to lead efforts in supporting early/late phase Oncology Vaccine programs, primarily overseeing the execution of phase 1-3 studies. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership, superior scientific knowledge applicable to clinical research, and have a proven track record in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Directly oversee the strategic planning and execution of clinical studies, including the review and interpretation of clinical trial data, ensuring the timely delivery of critical project milestones
Lead the development and revision of protocol writing, informed consents, and other essential documents for the operational execution of clinical studies.
Spearhead the initiation of global clinical studies, working closely with Clinical Operations to ensure on schedule site activation, subject enrollment, monitoring, and adherence to safety practices, policies, and procedures.
Drive the review of study data to ensure timely and high-quality data entry, including the review of case report forms, coding, analysis, and complete documentation of clinical data.
Lead investigator meetings, investigator engagement, including the preparation and facilitation of Advisory Board meetings.
Partner with Study Physicians and Pharmacovigilance to ensure study treatment discontinuation or other safety decisions are made per protocol and align with stakeholders within the study team.
Oversee the coordination of relevant and timely data analyses and presentations in close collaboration with safety, data management, Data Monitoring Committee, Biostatistics, Pharmacometrics, and Biomarker teams to meet timelines for safety monitoring committee meetings, regulatory documents and to make timely program decisions regarding study objectives.
Lead the training of site and Company staff on the study protocol, ensuring the teams have the necessary guidance and tools for the successful execution of projects.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Advanced Degree in a Scientific discipline (i.e., MS, PharmD, PhD, MD) is required.
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in clinical research and development, or related experience within the industry (pharmaceutical, biotech, CRO, etc.) and 3 years of progressive leadership is required. In lieu of an advanced degree, candidates with a Bachelors in a scientific discipline or BSN/MSN may be considered with 12+ years’ experience in clinical research and drug development experience in oncology, including progressive leadership roles within the industry.
Extensive experience in Oncology development.
Proven leadership in clinical evaluation projects, including the development of protocols, case report forms, informed consent, study initiation, and monitoring.
Exceptional abilities in data integrity, exploration, analysis, and presentation.
Excellent written communication, oral communication, and presentation skills are required.
The individual must have demonstrated ability to lead in a team environment.
Ability to travel up to 25% is required.
