About the role
What you will be doing
- Respond promptly to guest requests and maintenance service calls, striving to resolve issues efficiently and professionally.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair building, equipment, and system malfunctions, prioritizing guest-impacting concerns.
- Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure facilities remain in excellent working condition.
- Maintain and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and commercial kitchen equipment as needed.
- Complete work orders accurately and document repairs, maintenance activities, and follow-up requirements.
- Support renovation, installation, and improvement projects throughout the property.
- Partner with fellow engineering team members and other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Assist in maintaining the appearance, functionality, and overall condition of guest rooms, public spaces, back-of-house areas, and hotel equipment.
What we are looking for

- Previous hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen equipment, and general building systems.
- Vocational training, certification, apprenticeship, or related technical education preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and equipment documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and exceptional service.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, and work in various indoor and outdoor environments throughout the shift.
- Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and maintenance machinery.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work from ladders and in confined spaces when necessary.
- Visual and auditory ability to safely inspect equipment, identify maintenance issues, and respond to guest and team member needs.
