NEOGEN JOB ADVERT – SENIOR ACCOUNTANT, RECEIVABLE

Neogen is seeking a Senior Accountant, Receivable to play a critical role in supporting our Finance team with accurate reporting, data analysis, and process optimization in a high-volume, SOX-controlled environment. This position is responsible for preparing and distributing reports related to Accounts Receivable, Intercompany Transactions, Allowance for Bad Debt, and departmental productivity metrics. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for creating efficiencies through data analysis and automation.

This position follows a hybrid model, combining in-office and remote work. We offer flexibility in scheduling to support individual needs while maintaining collaboration with the broader team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close process by reviewing transactions, preparing customer debit and credit memos, and posting journal entries.

• Review supporting documentation for receivable transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper accounting treatment.

• Consolidate and analyze accounts receivable reports from multiple ERP systems into a comprehensive aging workbook.

• Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to balance sheet accounts, including cash, accounts receivable, intercompany receivables, customer deposits, credit card clearing accounts, and AR reserves.

• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, transaction support, and related information.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to reconcile accounts and resolve customer issues.

• Perform detailed data analysis to answer questions, improve processes, and create efficiencies through automation.

• Develop and publish a monthly dashboard of operational and productivity metrics, including DSO and BPDSO by collector.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, SOX requirements, company policies, and government regulations.

• Assist in testing and implementation of new software systems as needed.

• Prepare reports and analysis to meet SOX requirements and support control risk mitigation, including documentation of IPE review.

• Support sales staff and management with account information requests.

• Other duties and projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on Accounts Receivable.

• Strong data analysis, process improvement, and automation skills preferred.

• Advanced Excel skills required; experience with ERP systems and reporting tools a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a SOX-controlled, high-volume environment.

• Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate insights into actionable solutions.

• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on cross-functional teamwork.
