Position Summary

The Warehouseman is an entry-level position with a line of progression leading to Equipment Operator All, then Foreman Warehouse in Supply Chain Operations. The Warehouseman will be responsible for actively processing transactions through Materials Management module of SAP and mobile PC devices.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Material receipting, issuing and storage
• Inventory auditing
• Assisting in the monitoring of inventory levels
• Project Kitting
• Material handling using forklifts
• Material delivery
• Metal recycling
• Performing special projects as required
• General cleaning

Minimum Skills

Minimum Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to drive various sizes of company CDL and non-CDL vehiclesAbility to successfully complete training classes to include forklift certificationAbility to work at various locations, perform shift work, call duty, and overtime as requiredAbility to demonstrate and maintain a safe working recordKnowledge of warehouse operationsAbility to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and heavy trucksPersonal computer experience utilizing Microsoft Office to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to use radio frequency terminals and bar-code/labeling hardwareAbility to coordinate material pickup and deliveriesAbility to multi-task with attention to detailEffective customer service skillsAbility to work independently by effectively completing tasks with minimal supervision.Ability to read material specifications/interpret drawings to ensure materials received meet established CPS Energy standards and specificationsAbility to identify materials and learn application of materialsAbility to research receiving/inventory discrepanciesEffective oral and written communication skills.Basic math skills (addition, math, multiplication, and division); demonstrated ability to work with numbers; 10-key skillsValid Texas CDL or the ability to obtain within 120 days of employment

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of basic electricity and construction
• Previous warehousing experience
• Customer relations experience with supply chain personnel, field crews, vendors, and contractors
• Experience with the SAP Materials Management Module
• Experience showing initiative and leadership potential
• Knowledge of gas and/or electric materials
• Experience in a Lean Warehousing environment

Working Environment

Field environment, work is performed in extreme temperatures indoors and outdoors, ability to work in high elevations, high noise levels, ad exposure to extreme environmental conditions such as hot, cold, Employee may be potentially be exposed to hazards:burns chemical, confined spaces, electrical and exposed to energized equipment. Employee may be exposed to dusts, mists, fumes, gases, odors and poor ventilation.

Physical Demands

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequency, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Ability to lift/transport objects weighing 50.
