The opportunity

The Director leads a team of three individuals responsible for the negotiation of Teva’s biosimilar and brand portfolio products across State Medicaid and Federal National Accounts.  The position is responsible for leading the team to secure portfolio access, developing strategies to maintain coverage for products, creating compelling value propositions, building strong relationships with decision-makers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing clinical information, executing pull-through strategies, conducting business reviews, expanding customer engagement, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and leveraging market access resources and sales planning tools.  The Director will lead efforts to ensure Teva stakeholders are abreast of the evolving Medicaid and Federal landscapes and that strategies are built/adjusted accordingly.  Account customer types may include; State Medicaid Programs, Pharmacy Benefit Administrator (Pools), the VA, DOD, PHS and Indian Health Services.

 

The Director will provide managerial and strategic leadership for three Associate Directors and will be responsible for ensuring strategies are successfully executed and outcomes are achieved by those individuals. The Director is responsible for supporting the Teams’ efforts to negotiate and execute appropriate contract terms & conditions with the accounts to ensure Teva’s business objectives are met on an annual basis.  As well, the Director is responsible for providing Medicaid specific strategic direction to the Regional Account team for those states that are not covered by the AD’s.

Responsibilities


⦁    Lead the Account team to ensure optimal Preferred Drug List (PDL) access, pull through and resource management for State Medicaid & Federal business
⦁    Maximize team efforts to plan, initiate, and lead negotiations with Federal accounts (VA, DOD, PHS, etc.) and State Medicaid to ensure optimal value and portfolio access
⦁    Develop and implement strategies to maintain/enhance coverage for existing and new products
⦁    Help build compelling product value propositions that will resonate with our Government customers
⦁    Articulate compelling messaging within approved messaging and product value proposition
⦁    Develop and maintain strong business relationships with decision makers, influencers of targeted accounts for the purposes of informing and influencing their positions on issues of mutual interest
⦁    Foster deep customer relationships & collaboration within the account, leveraging cross-functional teams (to include Pricing & Contracting, Medical, Value & RWE as appropriate)
⦁    Collaborate with Market Access Regional Account Managers and sales leadership to enhance understanding and impact of Federal & State Markets.  
⦁    Provide strong leadership cross-functionally across the partner teams (Sales, Contracting, Medical, Finance, Legal, Payer Strategy etc.) 
⦁    Develop and execute pull-through strategy to drive growth and performance in state markets, incorporating in regular updates to sales leadership 
⦁    Expand customer engagement by providing insights/expertise in relevant therapeutic areas
⦁    Collaborate with State Government Affairs on legislation and policy changes and develop Medicaid strategy accordingly.
⦁    Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations and company policies
 

Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered. 

 

Education/Certification/Experience:


⦁    Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
⦁    Minimum of 10 years pharmaceutical industry experience
