Building Maintenance Technician

Under the supervision of the Engineering Manager and with the guidance of the Building Engineer, this position is responsible for performing general maintenance and repair work at assigned Bank-owned facilities.
- Operates and maintains the major building HVAC, electrical, lighting and plumbing systems throughout the facility. Performs the preventive and repair maintenance on these major systems.
- Constructs, installs, or assembles small prefabricated furniture items such as shelving, marker or bulletin boards and similar items. Installs, demolishes and repairs partition walls, suspended acoustical ceilings and window and wall trim on a limited scale. Paints and stains surfaces as necessary. Performs minor repairs to exterior areas such as parking lots, walls, windows, and landscape irrigation systems. Installs signage as directed. Clears roof surfaces of accumulated debris. Clears roof drainage system of visible items that may cause blockage, and tests drains for proper operation, if possible.
- Completes all assigned Work Orders and Preventive Maintenance items in a timely manner and on schedule; inputs updates and/or notes to the online work order system, as needed. Informs Building Engineer if unable to complete assigned work within time allotted or if assistance/materials are needed.
- Identifies any conditions and/or trends that may create safety issues, impact building operations or affect the overall appearance of the property and reports findings to the Building Engineer. Takes corrective action as needed and directed by the Building Engineer.
- Maintains all assigned building maintenance reports and logs. Ensures all government and regulatory inspection records for the facility are collected and copied to the Corporate Facilities office.
- Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 – 3 years experience in facilities maintenance and repair or general construction. Experience of basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical knowledge and repair skills preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency with personal computers and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) or similar software. Knowledge of or ability to use Bank software and systems. Position requires manual dexterity and mechanical ability to operate standard manual and power tools.
- Possesses verbal and writing communication skills and problem solving skills. Must be able to bend, stoop, climb and descend ladders, lift, and have the ability to grasp and manipulate wood, metal and other materials. Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays, as necessary and assigned. Must be able to push/lift 50 lbs.
