Job Details: 

Purpose

For Spring 2026, the Department of Accounting is hiring a student employee who will provide administrative support to our faculty and the Senior Events Program Coordinator.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as front desk contact for student and faculty inquiries

  • Respond to email requests from faculty and staff regarding print work, canvas assistance, mail distributions, and other tasks as assigned

  • Resolve departmental print errors

  • Distribute mail to the department faculty and staff

  • Assist managers with event needs

  • Tidy the front office and maintain front-end inventory needs

  • Provide support and assistance as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a University of Texas at Austin student, enrolled for at least 6 credit hours in the Spring semester. Do not need to be enrolled in the summer.

  • Must NOT be a student in the McCombs School of Business

  • Possesses organizational skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook

  • Ability to handle multiple demands and tasks at once

  • Possesses interpersonal and analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Professional dress and demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Able to work independently with little supervision and make sound decisions.

  • Able to manage multiple conflicting deadlines.

  • Experience in a customer service environment

Hourly Rate

  • $13/hr

Working Conditions

  • Standard Office Environment

  • Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation

  • Lifting, pushing, or pulling

Work Shift

  • Employee must be available Wednesdays from 1pm-5pm. Other hours must occur between 8am-11am Mon-Fri
