Position Summary 

 

The Deputy Director of Maintenance/Logistics supports the Director of Maintenance & Logistics by providing support in the accountability for Metrea Strategic Mobility’s (MSM) Maintenance and Logistics departments and their operational support to the BU. This position requires extensive knowledge and experience of FAA requirements for aircraft maintenance and logistics, excellent time management skills, and a forward-thinking perspective.

Essential Functions Statements 

  • Responsible to the Director of Maintenance for managing safe, proficient, and compliant maintenance and logistics to support the customer's global missions.
  • Monitors each task and keeps the Director of Logistics abreast of all problems and accomplishments.  Serves as primary interface for enterprise-wide logistics and supply chain
  • Determines overall support requirements, including facilities, personnel, safety, and maintenance.
  • Directs and coordinates program activities designed to ensure effective and economical support.
  • Provides technical direction-specific projects assigned.
  • Serves as a technical authority for various functional areas.
  • Ensures tasks are completed within estimated time frames.
  • Schedules and assigns duties to direct reports.
  • Prepares and approves appropriate training.
  • Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.
  • Ensure the programs are timely and effectively implemented by budgetary objectives and all contractual requirements.
  • Maintain and foster highly responsive coordination and communication activities and initiatives of Logistics/Supply Chain management.
  • Provide inventory acquisition, forecasting, and disbursement advice to WASS management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Monitors workmanship and materials to verify that the Company, NAVAIR and FAA rules, regulations and standards are complied with. 
  • Provide advice, guidance, and direction to professional staff to resolve operational problems within the business unit.
  • Maintain general knowledge of all work and inspections being performed.
  • Supports the Director in the oversight of the Maintenance Department operations and practices to ensure applicable compliance with the CFR Parts 39, 43,135,121.
  • Manage employee payroll, PTO, and sick times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
