Role Description

We are currently in search of a self-motivated and detail-oriented candidate to work in the Powder Coating Department. The successful candidate is eager to learn, willing to be trained, and has an excellent attendance record. While experience is a huge advantage, we will consider hiring and training someone interested and committed to hard work. We are looking for the right person to fill these positions and become part of the Keiser team. Candidates must be able to work independently or as part of a team and must practice general shop safety.

This position is a temp-to-hire using a third-party agency. Employees are evaluated after 90 days and offered a position with the company if they are meeting expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load parts on powder coating conveyor
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sandblasting, masking, or rinsing in high-volume production
• Transport raw materials and finished products: move, stack, store, and transfer materials and supplies around the shop and storage areas
• Assist team members: Deliver materials and equipment to other team members to help complete projects on time
• Apply powder coating using a handheld spray gun, ensuring an even distribution of the coating for a uniform finish per manufacturer requirements
• Inspect parts for defects
• Clean paint guns and the booth to prevent contamination
• Operate, clean, and maintain tools depending on the task assigned
• Understand the company's high standards of cosmetic workmanship
• Clear working areas by cleaning up rubble, debris, and other waste materials to eliminate possible hazards
• Follow safety guidelines and operate in a safe manner
• Additional qualifications include excellent dexterity, mechanical skills, and physical stamina
• Must have the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with powder coating processes, sandblasting, or metal finishing
• Manufacturing experience: 6+ months
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly conducts repetitive motion and should be willing to learn other duties to rotate tasks

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Fast-paced environment with others relying on completion of tasks
• Standing for 8+ hours a day, breaks limited to scheduled meals and rest periods
• Hot environment without AC, fans are available throughout the building
• Dress code is casual: safety-toed work boots required, no tank tops, no shorts
• All employees are required to wear eye protection while in the shop

EDUCATION

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Training through an apprenticeship or technical school is a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Fast-paced environment with others relying on the completion of tasks
• Standing for extended periods; meal periods and breaks given throughout shift
• Shop environment without AC; fans are available in some areas of the building
• Dress code is casual: closed–toed safety shoes are required, no tank tops, no shorts
