Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join Couchbase as the Director of Strategic Solution Engineering. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in supporting our Strategic Accounts and Strategic Account Teams and engaging with top-tier accounts across the Americas. As the Director of Strategic Solution Engineering, you will bring your expertise in Solution Engineering and Presales Leadership to drive success in collaboration with our key customers.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with Strategic Account Teams and our Strategic Customers to understand customer requirements and design tailored solutions.
• Serve as a key technical advisor and liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring effective communication and alignment of goals.
• Lead a team of Strategic Solution Engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and strategic direction to drive excellence in customer engagement.
• Utilize your extensive Solution Engineering background to articulate complex technical concepts and capabilities to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leverage your 4+ years of presales leadership experience to drive strategic initiatives and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
• Fluently apply the MEDDIC framework in customer interactions to uncover and address key customer needs and challenges.
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of database technology, particularly in the NoSQL space, to effectively position Couchbase solutions.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience as a Solution Engineer, with a strong technical background in database technology.
• 4+ years of experience in presales leadership, showcasing a track record of success in building and leading high-performing teams.
• Proven track record in data centric presales efforts and specifically, database technologies.
• Fluent in MEDDIC methodology, with a proven ability to apply it to complex sales engagements.
• Highly collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a high-accountability environment.
• Comfortable working with cutting-edge database technology and staying abreast of industry trends.

The anticipated starting base pay range for this role is listed below. Base salary is not the only component of our competitive total rewards package - you may also be eligible for bonus, commissions, equity, and other benefits as described below.
