The Role We’re looking for a hands-on Logistics Coordinator to own shipping, receiving, and inventory control across multiple internal locations. As our sole logistics specialist, you will ensure materials are received accurately, documented correctly, and available when needed—while building the process rigor we need for ISO9001 readiness. Operating across our facilities at 3 Gill Street and 45 Industrial Parkway, this role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, quality-driven environment and can balance day-to-day execution with continuous improvement. You will work closely with Manufacturing, Operations, and broader Supply Chain teams to keep materials flowing and our growing organization running smoothly. This is a 6-month contract engagement with a high likelihood of converting to a full-time role based on performance and business needs.In the first 3 months you'll
- Learn VEIR’s receiving and inventory workflows, including dual-system documentation in Katana and Procurify, and establish a baseline understanding of current processes.
- Take ownership of daily shipping and receiving operations across both sites—performing initial inspections, processing documentation, and ensuring timely dock-to-stock flow.
- Execute regular cycle counts and begin reconciling discrepancies to establish a reliable inventory accuracy baseline.
- Ensure all receiving areas at 3 Gill and 45 Industrial Parkway are clean, organized, labeled, and compliant with VEIR’s material handling standards.
- Build working relationships with Manufacturing and Operations teammates to understand material flow needs and project timelines.
- Confirm active Class 5 Forklift Certification and safely operate material handling equipment for palletized and heavy loads.
In the first 6 months you'll
- Establish consistent, audit-ready documentation practices including packing slips, bills of lading, serial/lot tracking, and Certificates of Conformance where applicable.
- Implement and maintain a quarantine and nonconforming material process, coordinating with suppliers and Quality on dispositioning.
- Oversee receiving and inventory practices at partner and third-party locations, ensuring traceability and documentation controls are followed consistently.
- Manage logistics for high-volume receiving windows during major project phases, including coordinating carrier pickups, tracking shipments, and resolving delivery issues.
- Support initial ISO9001 readiness activities by performing additional receiving and quality checks and contributing to SOP development.
- Identify and begin implementing improvements to receiving flow, inventory accuracy, and logistics efficiency—building the foundation for a mature, scalable logistics operation at VEIR.
To be successful in this role
You bring:
- Class 5 Forklift Certification and demonstrated experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment to move heavy and palletized loads safely.
- Hands-on experience in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling in a production, manufacturing, or lab environment.
- Experience working in a regulated or quality-driven environment with strong documentation discipline and a deep attention to detail.
- Familiarity with traceability requirements including serial/lot tracking, material holds, and Certificates of Conformance (CoCs).
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics across multiple locations and with third-party or partner facilities.
- Comfort with digital inventory management systems; experience with ERP or procurement tools such as Katana or Procurify is
