The People Planning and Project Management team (PPM) partners closely with all People teams to execute our strategy, drive key people-focused initiatives, and effect change to help scale and grow Cruise. As a member of this team, you will report to the Director of People PPM. You will partner across the People team to progress Cruise’s People strategy, develop cross-functional plans, lead complex projects, define, supervise and communicate success metrics, and operationalize their implementation.

What you’ll be doing:

You will work closely with members of the People Leadership team and beyond to define initiatives that drive progress against functional priorities aligned to company objectives. As a hands-on PM, you’ll be accountable for creating plans to operationalize critical initiatives, ensuring the project team moves forward in line with high-level deliverables and plans.

Proactively lead a portfolio of projects requiring careful and thoughtful change, and partner management. Includes developing project plans, establishing governance infrastructure, hands-on management of the project lifecycle and producing partner updates.

Develop robust communications plans in coordination with our Internal Communications partners to provide visibility and insights into progress against key initiatives and to support organizational change efforts.

Collaborate with partners across the organization to balance priorities and ensure alignment and accountability for delivery and execution.

Serve as a point of contact for the project team, stakeholders and executives across your project portfolio ensuring a high quality output, and identifying risks to be discussed and mitigated thoughtfully.

What you must have:

Bachelor’s degree; M.B.A. or other advanced technical degree preferred

10+ years of experience in management consulting, private equity, recruiting, or human resources strategy; experience with a rapidly scaling business is preferred.

Experience working as a PM in an environment going through rapid scale to locations domestically and abroad, familiarity with location strategies and market expansion is advantageous

Solid understanding of various HR disciplines and the connectivity between them to build a successful suite of People offerings

Ability to navigate ambiguity in a dynamic business landscape and be nimble in a fast-moving environment. Experience building consensus across different functions and groups.

Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate on a portfolio of cross-functional projects with multiple partners.

Superb communication skills, high degree of comfort in developing clear, succinct communications for different audiences including experience producing presentations for executive-level audiences.

Proven ability in preparing project documentation (charters, project/change management plans, meeting agendas), presentations and plans from scratch.

You have a low ego, and are solution-oriented; willing to shift from high-level critical thinking, to digging in to support implementation.

You possess a proven understanding of outstanding HR practices and are able to draw significant insights from HR data
