Mechanical AutoCAD Drafter - HVAC

Job Title: Mechanical AutoCAD Drafter 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Draft and develop layouts for mechanical systems based on direction from the Engineering Dept. 
• Assist in the production of detailed schematics for HVAC systems. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the job's functions.
• Interface with engineers when gathering system requirements, then translate the requirements to construction drawings. 
• Perform field measurements to gather as-built information as necessary.
• Assist in Engineering Assessments/Evaluations by drafting schematics/layouts/diagrams.
• Maintain/enhance/improve our CAD detail library.
• Recommend alterations to the CAD standards to improve the quality and/or procedures and maintain a protocol for informing team members on CAD standard changes.
• Actively seek out new CAD Drafting technologies and recommend their use and implementation to the Engineering department.
• Must be capable of making autonomous decisions based on experience and project requirements.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects at any given time and delegate to team members when necessary.
• Ability to work and communicate with all departments within the Company, clients, Utilities, local authorities, etc.

Job Specifications (incl. Education requirements, minimal experience, computer skills required, etc.)

• 4+ years CAD Drafting experience utilizing AutoCAD required.
• Formal AutoCAD training is a plus. 
• Must possess a working knowledge of permitting submittal requirements in the mechanical field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Enthusiasm, attitude, and discipline are important characteristics.

Compensation Range:   $67,000 - $74,000 per year
