Sterling Steel Company produces over 500,000 tons of wire rod annually.   Customers have various uses for this rod, including Leggett & Platt making bed springs, which they invented.  Leggett & Platt is not only our largest customer, but after purchasing NWSW in 2002 they are also the owner.

Overview:

Contribute to Sterling Steel safely producing high quality products at the lowest cost by

correctly and timely processing freight vendor invoices and customer billing.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Receive and review Shipping paperwork
• Verify prices and shipment type on paperwork match entries in LPCS; research variances
• Electronically send information to corporate accounting for payment processing
• Receive packing slips from Central Storage and verify POs and receive shipment online
• Send any unmatched packing slips to Purchasing for further review
• Answer vendor calls regarding payment dates
• Physically match paper copies of invoices with appropriate
