Quality, Health & Safety (QHS) Manager

TRIGO is currently recruiting for a Quality, Health & Safety (QHS) Manager to support our Heavy Transportation division. This role is based out of the Peoria, Illinois office with travel to facilities and meetings as necessary. The salary range for this role is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year.

Overall Purpose

The Quality, Health & Safety (QHS) Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining processes that ensure:

• Customer satisfaction
• Workforce safety
• Compliance with quality and safety standards

The ideal candidate will foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety awareness across the organization and work closely with internal and external customers. Periodic attendance at company audits, companywide meetings, and customer meetings is required.

Direct: General Manager

Responsibilities

• Interface with customers and operations to address service quality needs and process design/revisions.
• Support management in establishing and reviewing objectives and KPIs aligned with business strategy.
• Recommend and assist management in driving quality initiatives, process improvements, and cost reductions (e.g., Cost of Poor Quality).
• Assist operations and customers with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct internal audits and coordinate external audits with the parent company.
• Support the investigation, documentation and resolution of safety incidents.
• Analyze Health & Safety data; prepare for and chair the Health & Safety Committee meetings.
• Collaborate with the Health & Safety Committee to maintain OSHA- and customer-compliant policies and procedures.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the subsidiary and the parent company on all QHS matters.
• Maintain and control Management System documentation.
• Create, update and organize safety and quality training programs.
• Support the Business Solutions team in the creation and maintenance of digital tools.
• Lead initiatives to maintain ISO 9001 certification and pursue additional certifications as needed.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Drive Management System alignment efforts between the subsidiary and the parent company.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio, SharePoint) and Power Automate
• Mid-level knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF16949, or related standards.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Strong knowledge of 6S, 8D, and 5 Whys methodologies.
