About the role:

The Smart Trailers and Connected Equipment team builds leading solutions that serve customers across a broad set of industries. The Smart Trailer portfolio includes a range of hardware and software that enables trailer fleets to improve visibility, reduce costs, and optimize trailer operations. The Connected Equipment portfolio leverages the same hardware and  delivers value across a diverse landscape, serving customers with unpowered, simple and complex equipment solutions. 

The Smart Trailers and Connected Equipment product team is the steward of our complete customer journey, ensuring acquisition, onboarding and engagement experiences, across all surfaces (web, mobile, API), are best-in-class. This team:

• Interacts regularly with customers to receive/provide feedback loops on critical feature development and enhancements.
• Leverages competitive intelligence to strategically grow the Samsara moat.
• Partners with Finance to ensure investments accrue intended value towards long term strategic plans.
• Shepherds investments from concept through release management, including all GTM motions along the way.
• Continuously balances a complex set of priorities, serving existing customers with requested enhancements and building new functionality across multiple product areas.
• Partners with Platform product management to identify and (co)develop scale features. 

As a Senior Product Manager, you will play a critical role in this team by partnering with engineering, design, product, GTM and field leaders at Samsara to drive this portfolio forward.

In this role, you will: 

• Articulate our business strategy and customer priorities as it pertains to a significant portion of our portfolio, working with engineering to set measurable goals and define a roadmap to deliver on them.
• Interface with customers to ensure that we reach the outcomes required for their ultimate success. Define product requirements for user-facing capabilities, and serve as the ‘voice of the customer’ in trade-off discussions and decision-making forums.
• Develop a technical understanding of our platform to successfully develop and launch new features in collaboration with Design, Engine
