JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
· Build and lead a new Wireless LAN standardization team and lead the team to advance the state-of-the-art in the wireless technology, including generating patents.
· Engage with standard bodies and OSS community to make technical contributions.
· Identify research directions and new research areas to realize Sony vision.
· Collaborate with our global teams in the world to reach optimal outcome.
· Honesty, trust, and strong ethics are required for the responsibilities listed above.
QUALIFICATIONS
Your qualifications and experience should include:
· Master Degree in Electrical / Communication Engineering or in Computer Science with at least 10+ years of related work or research experience (or Ph.D. Degree with at least 5+ years of related work or research experience).
· Excellent wireless communication background including all system or link level aspects.
· Experience on wireless LAN systems, cellular systems, sensor network technologies, distributed networking technologies, or wireless PAN systems with excellent research record is required.
· Experience on wireless LAN (IEEE802.11) MAC/PHY layers protocol design and/or analysis is preferred. A good knowledge of wireless LAN protocol is required.
· Experience on standard development (WLAN (802.11be/11ax/11ac,..) or 3GPP (RAN1/RAN2), etc.) is preferred.
· Experience on link level or system level simulation (i.e., ns-3, OPNET) is required.
· Experience on open source software, such as OpenWiFi, is a plus.
· Experience on cross-layer system design is a plus.
· Essential programming language knowledge, such as Matlab, C/C++, Python is required.
