This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Consultant, Project Management for our New York, NY  office. Be involved in projects with our Transit and Rail Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

Your Impact

  • Assume technical and managerial responsibility for the preparation of technical reports as requested by the client
  • Manage projects and serve as liaison between client and project team
  • Prepare project progress reports and status updates
  • Prepare Technical Specification documents
  • Perform inspections and audits as requested by the client
  • Investigate rail system issues as requested by the client
  • Assume role in assisting in new pursuits
  • Perform billable work and other tasks as assigned as best fits training and ability
     

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related field 
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a rail and transit related field, preferably working for a consultancy, manufacturer or agency
  • Active member of local professional organization
  • Participation on conference program with panels, poster sessions, papers and presentations
  • Well-developed state-of-the-practice and some state-of-the-art experience in professional discipline
  • Competence in analytical techniques and modeling in tackling technical problems with some complexity
  • Demonstrates excellence in providing high quality level technical performance within the state-of[1]the-practice and innovative thinking when opportunities arise
  • Demonstrates commitment to keeping up-to-date in technical knowledge of current and emerging practices
  • Ability to contribute and interact well with others as well as develop and manage high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals
  • Leads in developing work plans for addressing technical issues within project time and budget
  • Ensures staffing needs are met and key employees are retained and engaged
  • Provides leadership in technical and professional activities on projects
  • Develops solid client relationships
  • Obtains additional professional licenses/certifications
  • Seeks out opportunities to mentor junior staff
  • Actively participate in industry events (speaking, contributing to papers / articles, etc.)
  • Pursues additional education and deepen technical skills
  • Known and recognized locally
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Mater's degree in related field
