Accounting & Estimating Compliance Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for creating documentation, assisting with the completion of audits, and performing internal reviews.
The Accounting & Estimating Compliance Analyst is an entry-level position in the Legal and Compliance group, which supports various areas and involves frequent interaction with all levels of FMM's staff.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Documentation of accounting System through a series of written procedures and work instructions in preparation for the Accounting and Management System certification audit.
· Assist with the performance and completion of audits and oversight reviews from various US Government agencies and customers (Defense Contract Audit Agency, Defense Contract Management Agency, US Navy, etc.)
· Perform internal reviews of Business practices and policies to ensure compliance with established and approved practices.
· Provide training and education to the business on select topics, to ensure business practices are compliant with Government and contract regulation.
· Complete and submit various monthly reporting requirements to Government agencies and internal customers.
· Monitor current business practices in accounting /estimating measuring risk and suggest areas for improvement.
· Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.
· Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor's degree in a related field such as accounting, finance, business administration, legal or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
· 2-3 years related experience in accounting, auditing, or government contracts preferred
· Knowledge of government regulations (FAR, DFAR, CAS) preferred
SKILLS
· Working knowledge of policy, procedures and work instructions as they apply to a business setting.
· Ability to work with others internally and externally on a daily basis.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interface with all levels of employees effectively.
· Must have strong Microsoft Office Suites computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
· Attention to details and able to manage large volumes of data, and conduct complex analysis.
· Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
· Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
· Must have effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Must have ability to maintain confidentiality.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee's workspace is in a clean and comfortable climate-controlled setting with little to no exposure to the moving equipment, elements, extreme conditions, or risk of injury. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. When entering the shipyard, the work environment is not climate-controlled and there is exposure to moving equipment, etc.
