Manager, Global Data Center Lab Infrastructure 

 LOCATION - Breinigsville, PA (US East Data Center)

The R&D Labs Manager will 

We are building a new global Lab team to support and enhance our Data Center infrastructure, and we need a strong leader to shape it from the ground up. As the Manager, Global Lab Infrastructure, you will have end-to-end ownership of our Lab environment, supporting all equipment needed by teams ranging from Product QA to Sales and Support. You will lead a growing team of technicians, ensuring the Lab is operationally sound, scalable, and secure.

This is a rare opportunity to define the vision and strategy for a mission-critical function while building a high-performing global team. You will balance hands-on infrastructure expertise with strategic leadership —guiding day-to-day operations, driving long-term strategy and improvements, and positioning the Lab as a key enabler for company-wide innovation.

This role will require some initial domestic and international travel to consolidate existing Lab environments and establish a unified operational framework.

JOB SUMMARY

· Strategic Leadership: Build and lead a team of Lab technicians, setting clear objectives and defining processes to ensure smooth daily operations.

· Infrastructure Oversight: Manage the Lab’s computing infrastructure (VMWare, Hyper-V, Openstack, server hardware, storage, networking) to support testing and development needs.

· Operational Excellence: Develop and enforce IT policies and best practices to ensure system reliability, security, and efficiency.

· Incident Management: Provide hands-on support for high-priority incidents and disruptions, coordinating a 14x5 support structure with on-call escalation.

· Project Delivery: Oversee the planning and execution of Lab technology projects, including resource allocation, effort estimation, and delivery timelines.

· Hardware Management: Manage the full hardware lifecycle, including provisioning, inventory, and decommissioning of all Lab equipment.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the Lab team and other internal departments (Engineering, QA, Sales, Support) to align Lab capabilities with business needs.

· Security & Compliance: Ensure Lab systems meet security standards and lead incident response when necessary.

 

About You

· Proven experience leading technical teams and defining operational strategy.

· Strong technical background in data center infrastructure, including server hardware, and network topology.

· Working knowledge of computer and server operating systems, including VMWare, Hyper-V, Mac OS, Linux, Windows.

· Excellent communicator with the ability to engage both technical teams and business stakeholders.

· Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally to support the consolidation of and continued support of global Lab environments.
