As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead and develop a technical team of professionals to directly support the objectives of the Salesforce Value Stream. Through partnership with associated business leaders, you’ll establish coordinated plans to realize a shared vision and then manage the execution and support of those plans.
What you will do:
- Act as a subject matter expert on Salesforce best practices, industry trends, and emerging technologies
- Lead teams that develop, implement, and maintain highly complex proprietary and/or purchased software systems in support of the Retirement, Life & Annuity, and Asset Management businesses
- Oversee the execution and continuously improving Agile software development method to design, code, modify, test, debug, integrate, document and deliver software systems that realize business/product specifications and satisfy customer expectations
- Assign teams and individual staff to projects of varying scope. Assist business leaders and business systems analysts with an Agile process of prioritizing and structuring work so that teams deliver business value in frequent and regular increments
- Assist the Vice President of Customer Relationship Management in publishing, maintaining, and fulfilling a strategic technical roadmap for Customer Relationship Management
- Make recommendations on pay and decisions on performance appraisals, work schedules, discipline and hiring. Estimate staffing needs and schedules and cultivate the team's self- organizing capability for delivering business value
- Work with associated line of business leaders to establish and maintain a clear product roadmap
- Define and execute tactical steps that realize a strategic technical vision. Facilitate the creation of work plans in accordance with defined business priorities. As needed, perform functions of an Agile SCRUM master or project manager
- Define and implement continuous improvement processes to elevate organizational capabilities
What you will bring:
- Minimum 6 years’ experience, including at least 2 years’ experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people
- Must have a Deep technical understanding of Salesforce
- Possess a strong work value for making others productive (versus being an individual producer)
- Demonstrated ability to keep not only your Salesforce skill set up to date but a passion in driving your team to also stay up to date with changes
What will set you apart:
- Experience with implementing and supporting complex Salesforce implementations
- Software development background
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems or equivalent experience
- Experience consolidating multiple Salesforce orgs into single orgs
- Proven experience as an Agile practitioner, with expertise in SAFe methodologies a plus
