Student Employees are in part-time positions hired for short-term projects not to exceed one thousand (1,000) hours per year. Position Summary

The Video Mentor produces engaging and high-quality content to support student success for the Project ACCESS grant, a federally funded DHSI grant. This position is primarily responsible for video production, utilizing a mix of creativity, strategic thinking, and technical skills. The Video Mentor works collaboratively and demonstrates the ability to work efficiently without compromising quality or accuracy.

Essential Functions:

• Creates compelling and original video content.
• Responsible for reviewing and editing videos utilizing video editing software.
• Responsible for the following stages of Video Production; including Development, Pre-production, Production, and Post-Production.
• Collaborates with the project team to establish project objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.
• Meets project milestones and deadlines in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education & Experience:

• Candidates must be current undergraduate students enrolled at National University.
• Candidates must have completed a course at National University, earning a minimum grade of B or higher in the course.
• Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 NU GPA at the time of application
• Throughout their employment, candidates must earn at least a B- in every course for which they produce content.
• Proven record of creating engaging, high-quality videos preferred.
• Experience using video editing software preferred
• Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
• Proficiency in both English and Spanish preferred.

• Proven writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proven creativity skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.  Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. The minimum salary will be offered based on the minimum exemption threshold based on state of residency.
