Your new role
As the new Business Development Manager in our Bioenergy and Power-Generation group you will play a leading, client facing role in translating customer enquiries into high quality technical and commercial proposals. This will include developing consulting projects, providing strategic advice to clients, and driving business development initiatives.
Key tasks and responsibilities
You will collaborate closely with new prospects and existing clients, together with Ramboll project management and tender teams, and apply your commercial and technical expertise to support account new business initiatives. This will include;
Opportunity Leadership and Management
- Leading and managing biofuels consulting opportunities from identification to booking.
- Developing project plans, timelines, and budgets for proposals to wind new projects.
- Coordinating and overseeing Multi-disciplinary tender teams, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Preparing and presenting detailed reports and recommendations to clients.
Technical Expertise and Advisory
- Providing expert advice on biofuels technologies, including production processes, feedstock selection, and sustainability practices.
- Analysing market trends, policy developments, and regulatory changes affecting the bioenergy industry.
- Conducting feasibility studies, economic analyses, and risk assessments for biofuels projects.
Client Relationship Management
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the biofuels sector.
- Supporting clients in navigating regulatory frameworks and securing necessary approvals.
Business Development
- Developing and implementing strategies to grow the biofuels consulting practice.
- Participating in marketing and promotional activities, including conferences, webinars, and publications.
- Identifying key clients and projects to develop those following the business development plan.
Team Leadership and Development
- Mentoring and training junior consultants, junior BD managers and other team members.
- Fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Staying updated on industry advancements and integrating new knowledge into the team’s capabilities.
About you

- Bachelors or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Significant and measurable experience in the biofuels industry, with a proven track record in technology, consulting or project management roles.
- In-depth knowledge of biofuels production technologies, feedstock logistics, lifecycle analysis, and sustainability standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in economic modelling and data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Ambitions of leadership and team management, with capabilities in mentoring and developing junior staff.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscape, and regulatory frameworks in the biofuels sector.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications related to renewable energy or biofuels.
- Experience with international biofuels markets and policies.
- Fluency in additional languages.
