Charlotte Pipe and Foundry, located in Monroe, NC, is looking for an Occupational Health Nurse. Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is a leading manufacturer of pipe and fittings. Summary:
The person holding this position is responsible for supporting the operations of the Monroe, NC occupational health department and supporting six satellite locations across the U.S., including triage, first aid, and medical treatment for occupational injuries/illnesses in lieu of outside clinic treatment. This will include administration of nursing care, medical surveillance, recordkeeping, ordering supplies, maintaining clinic facilities, collaboration with contract MD and other outside vendor contacts.
General Job Description:
- Deliver nursing assessments of minor health complaints and document in employee health file
- Conduct job placement health screenings
- Promoting and supporting health and safety initiatives
- Dispense OTC medication for minor aliments
- First responder for work related injuries and medical emergencies
- Administer vaccinations
- Manage worker's compensation cases
- Evaluate staff returning to work after injury or illness
- Develop new or enhanced health and safety policies
- Conduct employee training on health and safety
- Perform OSHA mandated testing and examinations
- Drug testing
- Help develop health-related policies and procedures
Experience or Training Required:
- Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Nursing practices
- Knowledge and experience with distribution or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with FMLA and ADAAA
- Experience working and collaborating with other departments, such as Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Facilities, Quality and EHS to ensure successful operations
- Good PC skills (MS Office software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
- Good interpersonal skills, and you show team orientation, communication skills
