About the role
Company Description
We are supporting our client, an accounting firm based in South Tampa, seeking a Senior Accountant to grow with their team.
Schedule:
This position is full time with additional hours required during peak times such as year end and during a client’s external audit.
Location:
Hybrid position after the first 6 months or upon completion of training. The primary office is in south Tampa with an office in St. Petersburg. Travel to various client locations within the Tampa Bay area as needed as well.

Job Description
- Provide strategic, high level consultation to C-level stakeholders
- Manage, supervise, train and develop senior and staff accountants
- Perform all accounting functions including preparing financial statements, financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, month end close, cash flow forecasting, etc.
- Drive process improvements by reconfiguring, automating and implementing new systems to streamline tasks
- Research technical accounting issues and communicate them in a simple and straightforward way
- Communicating and meeting with existing and potential clients regarding their accounting needs
- Managing internal resources within the firm
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field is required
- CPA highly preferred
- Minimum 5 years of public accounting experience in audit, assurance or accounting consulting or minimum 10 years of experience in leadership accounting or financial role for small to midsize company
- Management/team leadership experience
- Strong accounting and finance knowledge and experience (month/year-end close, general ledger, financial systems, financial reporting, consolidations, reconciliations, cash flow modeling, etc.)
- Advanced Excel and modeling skills (pivots, lookups, complex formulas, and macro capability)
- Self-starter – candidate is expected to serve as the main point of contact with clients and maintain a solid client relationship without direct supervision
- Highly organized - candidate is expected to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously and function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to provide decisive decision making skills with limited information
- Ability to learn new software programs quickly
