About the role

We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused AVP of Commercial Operations & Deal Desk to lead our global commercial operations and pricing governance. This role will be responsible for formalizing and scaling the deal desk function, overseeing commercial policy execution, and enabling pricing excellence across the FinTech portfolio. The ideal candidate will work with Fintech Revenue Organization leadership and Head of Commercial & Sales Operations on strategy, while managing daily commercial workflows, decisions, and team leadership independently. This is a critical role for driving scalable growth, operational efficiency, and value capture through structured pricing, contracting, and renewal processes.

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead and operationalize the global Deal Desk function including a team of commercial managers, to streamline and enhance the efficiency of deal reviews and approvals, ensuring timely and accurate processing of commercial transactions. 

  • Develop and implement the global commercial strategy for FinTech across established and emerging markets in all regions. 

  • Analyze market landscapes and formulate a comprehensive global pricing strategy. 

  • Develop and oversee commercial execution strategies, ensuring efficient approval of terms, contract reviews, and risk mitigation by partnering closely with the sales team to streamline commercial processes and maintain compliance. 

  • Serve as a key partner to sales, legal, and delivery teams, providing guidance and determining commitments for critical customer negotiations. 

  • Act as the escalation point for both internal and external clients regarding technical expertise. 

  • Utilize subject matter expertise to manage intricate customer relationships, ensuring competitiveness and enhancing the sales effort by defining advanced market requirements and opportunities. 

  • Manage FinTech's agreement structure and drive enhancements in collaboration with the legal team. 

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or related field; an MBA is highly desirable. 

  • Experience leading commercial transformation initiatives or pricing modernization programs, driving innovation and aligning business operations with evolving market demands. 

  • Strong advisory skills for complex deal negotiations and strategic planning, particularly in managing renewal strategies to secure long-term client relationships and growth opportunities. 

  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) and CLM (Contract Lifecycle Management) tools to optimize contract workflows, enhance efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. 

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, enabling effective handling of high-stakes scenarios. 

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a capacity to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams and with executive leadership. 

  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members for continued success.
