We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team of developers building the next generation of Patient Portal and Payment applications. You are a Principal developer with extensive experience in designing and building full-stack web applications, preferably in public and private cloud environments. You are an excellent communicator and nimble learner who embraces the challenges and complexity of working in the healthcare payments space.
 

The Team

The Patient Portal and the Payment Org provides a comprehensive suite of tools for patients to:

• Review lab results and submit medical forms
• Securely message their providers
• Quickly and securely pay their providers for treatments and provide insight into their past payments, insurance and other related information

Job Responsibilities

• Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications with appropriate detail
• Provide technical leadership: lead design and development (contribute individually) on an agile team of Engineers, a Scrum Master, a Product Owner, and Experience Designer
• Collaborate, mentor, and advise team members to promote productivity and effectiveness; share business and technical insights with the broader engineering and product organization
• Develop knowledge to act as a domain expert. Take ownership of what the team builds and oversee efforts across the team to ensure completion
• Act as a junior Architect on the team

Typical Qualifications

• Ideally, 8+ years of software engineering experience with significant product development expertise
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Hands-on experience and expertise in Java based technologies, especially Spring Boot framework is highly desirable
• Hands-on experience and expertise with AWS hosted infrastructure and containerization tools (Kubernetes, Docker) is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux, SQL, RESTful APIs, deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using Jenkins along with git, bitbucket and other source code repositories and other industry standard technologies
• Hands-on experience with the Javascript, Typescript and React framework
• Ability to lead teams/technical projects including technical design, scoping and estimation
• Any Perl experience would be a bonus!
