JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Job Duties

• Instruct student athletes in the rules and fundamentals of the respective sport.
• Execute coaching strategies, practice plans, and skill development activities; develop game day strategies.
• Assist and/or oversee the planning, organization, execution, and staffing of sport camps.
• Establish competitive schedule.
• Mentor student athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional, and social growth; establish and enforce the rules of conduct and team policies.
• Respond to media requests and maintain access/availability of coaching staff and student-athletes; provide information to the media about the team, the program, upcoming competitions, etc.
• May supervise assistant coaches, student managers, volunteer coaches, undergraduate coaches, and other personnel.
• Recruitment of Student-Athletes.

Requirements and Qualifications

• High level of knowledge to the game, preferable experience in coaching at the collegiate level. conduct practices, conditioning, in game coaching, and fundraising.
• Knowledge of PSUAC and USCAA eligibility and recruitment rules.

• Employment with the University for this job will require successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal History Background Check.    

• May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
