Junior Estimator – Mechanical HVAC (ZR_21158_JOB)

This is a remote position.

Sydney's leading insulation contractor, is seeking a Junior Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will assist in preparing cost estimates for mechanical services projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems. This position involves analyzing project specifications, collaborating with engineers and contractors, and utilizing estimating software to develop accurate cost projections. 

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to gather project specifications and requirements.
  
• Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and other project documents to prepare cost estimates.
  
• Assist in evaluating materials, labor, and time required for mechanical installations.
  
• Utilize specialized estimating software to create and refine cost projections.
  
• Prepare detailed bid proposals and reports for management and clients.
  
• Track and compare actual project costs to estimates, adjusting calculations as needed.
  
• Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and pricing in mechanical services.
  
• Attend virtual meetings with clients, vendors, and stakeholders to discuss budgets and project estimates.
  
• Support senior estimators in preparing competitive bids and proposals.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  
• Prior experience or internship in estimating, mechanical services, or construction.
  
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  
• Proven mechanical HVAC experience - include portfolio to showcase this
  
• Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or industry-specific platforms).
  
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  

• Experience in mechanical estimating or related fields.
  
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations in mechanical services.
  
• Understanding of project management principles.
  
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
