Job Description

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.

 

This role is part of a pending contract proposal. We are actively interviewing to identify qualified candidates in anticipation of a successful award.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and maintains weapon systems and related technology.
  • Integrates various components such as sensors, guidance systems, propulsion, and control mechanisms to create effective and reliable weapon systems.
  • Conducts testing and analysis to ensure systems meet performance and safety standards.
  • Provides research, analysis, and recommendations on current and future missions and capability areas across the doctrine, organization, training, material, leadership, personnel, facilities, and policy spectrum and supports development of those capabilities.
  • Provides analytical support to the development and revision of Joint, Service, interagency, and across coalition (e.g., Five Eyes (FVEYS)) doctrine, CONOPs, CONEMPs, etc. and assists in assessments).
  • Maintains databases and compares and contrasts information from multiple sources using current analytical tools.
  • Understands Government Reference Architectures for weapon systems and unified data references.
  • Collaborates with Radio Frequency (RF) Engineers to develop and maintain weapon systems (e.g., Minuteman III).

Minimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience. 

Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Ability to analyze system requirements and develop engineering specifications
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across engineering lifecycle phases
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in technical documentation

Preferred Requirements

Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools like MagicDraw or Cameo
- Prior experience working with military or aerospace platforms
- Master’s degree in a technical discipline is a plus
