We have an exciting opportunity for a Husbandry Technician l to join our ARC Research Services team. The Husbandry Technician I provide daily care for model species in standard and specialized husbandry settings. This includes performing regularly scheduled cage changing in conventional and high-density barrier housing areas, observing murine models for abnormalities, and maintaining adequate food and water supplies in enclosures.
The ARC Research Services unit provides real-time technical advanced in vivo services to push research from concept to publication in record time by removing training and skill barriers for our researchers at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Job Responsibilities:
Execute assigned husbandry tasks with guidance (e.g., maintenance of model holding & procedure rooms; routine sanitation; food and water supply & drug dosing management; scheduled cage changing).
Perform routine techniques on murine models (e.g., treatments, formalin fixation) as per defined guidelines.
Assist in veterinary treatments on research models, special observations, and other study-directed requests.
Maintain accurate documentation and records as required.
Escalate issues and problems according to set standards and SOPs.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma/GED required.
Minimum Experience:
Experience in Husbandry care, veterinary facilities, or husbandry-related fields is preferred.
Some experience with disinfection, sterilization, sanitation, and environmental microbiological analysis preferred.
Some experience with changes in animal health conditions preferred.
Some experience operating murine models caging and sanitation equipment is preferred.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
