Job Description Summary

This part-time position will be key in the planning and implementation of research, outreach, education, and communication around the Center for Stewardship Agriculture and Food Security’s vision and strategy. The part-time program manager will play an integral role in program development for both intramural and extramural constituencies by overseeing the planning and implementation of a variety of pursuits. This is grant funded approved as a 3-year position. Position located in Kennett Square, PA. No public transportation available.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the planning and delivery of the Center for Stewardship Agriculture and Food Security outreach efforts, including applied research, both hands-on and remote educational programs, as well as technical assistance and support services for agricultural stakeholders
• Oversee the planning and delivery of cross-campus/university-wide CSAFS outreach, educational, and research initiatives, including the Penn Regenerative Ag Alliance
• Collaborate with existing initiatives (ei:, One Campus One Health) to promote New Bolton Center as a living laboratory by coordinating expanded use of NBC facilities across all schools’ curricula. 
• Create and/or proofread and promote the Center for Stewardship Agriculture and Food Security shared communications and educational materials, including fact sheets, digital newsletter, listserv, educational programming, and website/social media content.
• Support Penn Vet’s Communications office to identify and coordinate opportunities for media coverage, including drafting news releases and responding to media requests related to the Center for Stewardship Agriculture and Food Security 
• Coordinate, draft, or edit content (print, digital, audio/video) for development and stewardship reporting.
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Master’s degree or higher level of education and 2 to 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 
• Background in science, especially agricultural and or environmental, and experience in an academic institution required Strong planning, time management, and organizational capabilities, along with attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and problem-solving skills, are necessary. 
• Must be effective in setting and meeting personal short and long-term goals to complete assignments, with multiple project tasks ongoing simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and writing skills. Strong MS Office skills.
• Must display strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
