Supplier Quality Engineer

DUTIES: BorgWarner Dixon LLC seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer based out of our office at 1350 Franklin Grove Road, Dixon, Illinois 61021. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. This position requires domestic and international travel, as needed, up to 35%.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining SQ procedures that support IATF16949 requirements; achieving a status of zero defects with materials and components delivered by suppliers; providing support to the production lines on issues related to quality of raw material – material out of specification, material with a poor performance in the line, etc.; coordinating corrective actions with suppliers and reviewing their proposed plans (example - 8D’s, control plans, FMEA’s, process flow diagrams, etc.); tracking supplier performance based on quality scores – supplier incidences and PPM’s; managing material in the hold area, working with internal stakeholders and suppliers to reach disposal of the parts; supporting PPAP and APQP activities with new suppliers or new parts/processes from existing suppliers – Launch of new projects, re-sourcing activities, eSCR’s, etc.; and following the strategic initiatives of the plant and be a coach of these initiatives for people in the line. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study and 36 months of experience in job offered or related. Experience must include: experience working with IATF16949 requirements; experience conducting incoming quality inspection; experience conducting corrective action planning (8D), SPC, GD&T, SMED theory and application and FMEA; and experience using A3, DOE, Painters chart, and Fish Bone. This position requires domestic and international travel, as needed, up to 35%.
