Pharmacy Technician

Regional Cancer Care Associates (RCCA) is looking for an exceptional Pharmacy Technician to join the team. This position is under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist working within a licensed pharmacy, performs the technical, nonjudgmental aspects of medication preparation, distribution, record keeping, and inventory control. Tasks are subject to sequential or final verification by a registered nurse or a registered pharmacist. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Specific state law may regulate that only licensed individuals perform compounding or mixing responsibilities. As a result, certain incumbents are prohibited from said tasks. This individual must also possess strong multi-tasking abilities and bring positivity and passion to their work. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares medications by mixing in a clean room. Maintains sterile technique.
• Checks all orders for completeness of information. Calculates and verifies drug dosage and calculations. Prepares drugs according to OSHA and interoffice guidelines.
• Maintains current drug information and MSDS sheets. Properly disposes all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs. Cleans hood daily or as stated in policy and procedures.
• Assists with drug inventory and drug ordering.
• Keeps accurate clean room and prep room logs .

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience mixing I.V. drugs.
• Pharmacy Technician state licensure in the state of New Jersey
