Digital Consultants seeks a Director of Network Operations/Network Engineer who will also be the on-site Contract Manager (Site lead) to serve as the primary Network Services/Customer Support engineer responsible for the administration, operation, and maintenance of the Department of Defense network and for providing technical assistance, training, and support to management and customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and contract management experience to meet mission-critical requirements and ensure service delivery excellence.
Director of Network Operations/Network Engineer Duties will include:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization's network operations strategy to meet client needs and support long-term objectives.
- Network Design and Engineering: Lead and participate in the design, configuration, and optimization of LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, and other network solutions.
- Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day network operations, including monitoring tools, incident management, and problem resolution.
- Stay knowledgeable of new directives and new technologies, including but not limited to hardware, software and DHA/AFNET specific policies, in all areas of Communications and Information Systems and be prepared to provide training to the CIO or higher.
- Collaboration and Reporting: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including cybersecurity, system administrators, and program managers, to align IT operations with organizational goals
On-Site Contract Manager Duties
- Contract Oversight: Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring alignment between contract objectives and service delivery.
- Team Management: Lead and supervise the contract team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure high levels of satisfaction and trust.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and organizational regulations and policies related to the contract.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for operational and service improvements within the scope of the contract.
- Ensure all personnel are fully trained and qualified prior to employment meeting general industry standards of education and experience per position description OR experience as a substitute for education.
Requirements
- Clearance: Top Secret (T5) Clearance minimum.
- Education: Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications: Required: Comptia Security + or CCNA Security, or CCNP, or equivalent IAT Level II certifications. Preferred: ITIL, PMP, or other relevant certifications.
- Health requirement: Must have certification of the following health requirements: Proof of Tuberculin skin testing or history of completion of anti-tuberculosis prophylaxis, Varicella or history of disease, MMR or history of disease if born after 1956.
· Experience:
- Must have 10 years of combined experience in Air Force Medical Information Systems/DHA Systems and be familiar with Medical Community of Interest (Med-COI)/DHA networks.
- Must demonstrate experience with all documentation requirements to establish and maintain an Information System Authority to Operate (ATO).
- Must have experience with the Department of Defense Risk Management Framework (RMF) and have significant, recent experience with network and IT system vulnerabilities, DHA desktop to data center (D2D) initiatives, medical equipment network migrations and knowledge of DoD 8570.01-M.
- Must have experience defining project objectives and requirements, establishing system architecture, ensuring Information Assurance compliance, directing, coordinating and completing project efforts,
