Job Description

Are you passionate about education, community engagement, and improving the quality of life in Nevada? The University of Nevada, Reno Extension is seeking a dynamic, motivated Coordinator for Extension Education Projects to lead impactful educational initiatives and support statewide programs that empower individuals, businesses, and communities.

This is your opportunity to work with a team dedicated to addressing real-world challenges in areas such as agriculture, health, economic development, youth programs, and natural resource management. Through collaboration, outreach, and innovative program development, you will help deliver Extension’s mission across diverse communities.

What You’ll Do

Lead and coordinate educational projects by designing both online and in-person programs tailored to community and stakeholder needs. Build partnerships with local industries, communities, and organizations to support program success and deliver impactful outreach. Develop assessments, analyze outcomes, and report on project impacts to enhance educational offerings. Collaborate with colleges and faculty across the University of Nevada, Reno to strengthen Extension program resources and participate in university-wide initiatives.

Areas of Focus

Applicants may be assigned to specialize in one or more of the following critical program areas:

  • Agriculture: Support Nevada’s agriculture producers through risk management and  food systems educational programs

  • Health & Wellness: Promote nutrition, mental health, and healthy lifestyles through educational outreach.

  • Economic Development: Foster job creation, agriculture and food business growth, and workforce development in Nevada communities.

  • Youth Development: Enhance opportunities for youth through programs like 4-H and other outreach initiatives.

  • Natural Resources: Provide education on soil health, climate, water conservation, and sustainable resource management.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience, OR
Master’s Degree and one (1) years of related work experience
Related Experience: Experience with diverse audiences, project coordination, grant management or closely related field.

This position requires candidates to complete a fingerprinting/background check.

Certification and Licensure

A valid driver’s license within 30 days of appointment
