Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:As the Director, Retail Stores you lead our store teams, regional leadership, and community teams to grow Arc’teryx brand awareness and deliver best in class industry results. You will develop and own responsibility for the business & people strategies for your area, looking out 3- 5 years. Your partnership within your area, cross-functional teams, HQ teams, counterparts, and the leadership of your retail team will ensure your plan is executed fully and on time. You are a charismatic leader with exceptional service and sales acumen. You are capable of painting the picture of success to your team and holding them accountable to deliver with enthusiasm, and you reflect and celebrate your successes together.
Meet Your Future Team:The NAM Commercial team is accountable for delivering sales through all regional channels. You will lead your team to ensure Arc’teryx is represented consistently and at its best, ultimately resulting in a seamless Arc’teryx experience in store, that will culminate with near-perfect, full-price sell through.
If you were the Director, Retail Stores now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Developing and leading the Retail strategy in sync with the NAM Retail Strategy including market plans, new store growth, and community, focused on the mid to long term strategy, 3-5 years out.
- Creating high performance teams, and a performance driven culture, through clear and strong people strategies.
- Owning and leading fleet wide retail stores initiatives and multi-year projects, with cross-functional business partners.
- Setting strategies to achieve our goals with respect to local market maturity and nuances through broadening our deep understanding of each region, market, and city in your area.
- Owning the pipeline of leaders ready to support growth in your area, NAM, and globally, and have a path for personal development.
- Owning responsibility for the Retail P&Ls and performance or outperformance of key retail KPIs for your area.
- Influencing new site locations for future stores in market including sales proformas and store designs.
- Strengthening our brand equity by ensuring that the retail strategy is aligned with Arc’teryx values, purpose, consumer promise, and the company’s long-term objectives.
- Working with cross-functional support and enablement functions of brand, finance, IS, People & Culture, product, allocation, distribution, and transportation, to deliver value to the retail business.
- Inspiring the organization through our values at Arc’teryx, self-leadership and your passion for leading and developing others.

Are you our next Director, Retail Stores?
- You have 10+ years’ experience leading cross-functional and integrated commercial/marketing/retail teams in a global apparel company.
- You have a bachelor’s degree in business or other related fields.
- You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives.
- You have experience creating and owning multi-year strategies, to support profitable growth.
- You have a strong financial acumen, which includes ownership of the Profit & Loss (P&L)
- You have a proven track record of building and leading high performing teams.
- You have a strong understanding the retail landscape, including the latest industry trends and innovations, in the outdoor apparel or equipment industry(preferred).
- You have experience leading through change in a high growth & complex business.
- You have a demonstrated ability to devise best (but sometimes not the easiest) solutions, with an unwavering commitment to do what is right.
- You have a strong awareness of the Arc’teryx brand, product, and consumer (preferred).
- You can travel regionally or internationally, as required.
