Senior Software Engineer, API Hub

About the Position
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help us build out the next iteration of Rapid’s core product, the API Hub. This role will play a crucial role in defining the user experience of every one of Rapid’s customers as we evolve to an expanded product platform.  The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in building front-end applications while also being comfortable iterating on our backend APIs. They would strive to take ownership of the end-to-end customer experience for the Hub, from beautiful, intuitive workflows to the operations needed to ensure we are delivering a high-quality product to our customers.

In this role, you will:

• Play a critical role in building the next iteration of Rapid’s core product – the API Hub – with sustained quality and feature-velocity
• Employ a test-first approach, ensuring reliability and security are top of mind
• Take on developing complex, new features and collaborate with leaders across the company to drive delivery with urgency and rigor
• Work closely with our product design team to ensure a crisp and consistent user experience
• Mentor junior engineers and help grow the engineering team

You have:

• Development experience building, operating, testing, and debugging web applications using modern Javascript  frameworks (React, Vue, etc.)
• Some experience with GraphQL
• A keen eye for design and utilizing reusable components where possible
• A desire to operate with a modern software development life cycle that is focused on reliability and developer productivity
• Experience growing junior engineers, helping them learn through their mistakes while providing guardrails to learning
