Position: Bus Operator

Salary Range: Service Salary Schedule.  Salary based on experience and education level per Putnam County Board of Education salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package to include:  PEIA insurance, retirement, life insurance, and free vision and dental insurance. 

Job Description: The School Bus Operator is responsible for operating school buses and other school transportation vehicles as provided by the West Virginia Board of Education.

Qualifications:

Holds a Commercial Driver's License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements
Passes the required physical examination
Has three years of experience as a licensed driver
Passes the Department of Motor Vehicles Driving Record Check
Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening
Completes 40 hours of required classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training.
Holds First Aid/CPR Certification
Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator's Certificate

Length of Employment: 200 Days

Responsibilities: The School Bus Operator shall have the responsibilities and duties as outlined in The Putnam County Schools Job Description Handbook.

*Location And Length Of Route(S) May Vary Determined by Coordinator of Transportation Dependent Upon the number and/or location of students requiring transportation services.
