How you’ll contribute
The Behavioral Health RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice for behavioral health patients. Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
- Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation).
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
- Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
