JOB SUMMARY: As the leader for the Pricing Management and Programs for the North America region, the role holder is expected to craft a comprehensive value-based pricing strategy, campaign & program plans for execution across United States, Canada, and Environmental Solutions commercial units. This role supports the interfaces with the commercial, marketing, finance and supply chain management functions and is a key contributor to effectively communicate and optimize business performance. It is critical that this leader establish a strong flow of communication with the internal stakeholders for achieving the business objectives.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Develop and deliver annual pricing strategy encompassing all commercial units within the region based on the three Cs of pricing value: create, communicate, capture.
  • In collaboration with the product marketing team, analyze market dynamics, cost structures to establish competitive and profitable pricing strategies for the varied product portfolio.
  • Contribute to short- medium term Strategic Business Review process with pricing strategy and intelligence.
  • Establish a “Center of Excellence” related to pricing leadership, management, and execution.
  • Guide the pricing, campaign & programs team to create and manage promotional programs, discounts, and incentives to drive sales and market share growth while ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Engage with Commercial, Finance, Marketing and SCM teams for all key pricing strategies which impact organizational commercial performance, such as cost transparency, incentive alignment, key performance indicators related to pricing execution, change management, and other key projects.
  • Working closely with Commercial and marketing teams to understand customer needs, develop effective campaign strategies, and ensure consistent messaging and execution of pricing and promotional programs.
  • Track and evaluate the performance of pricing strategies and actions, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • In collaboration with the legal team, ensure compliance with the local market regulations related to pricing, promotions of UPL’s crop protection products, staying abreast of industry regulations and updates.
  • Manage the Sales and Operations planning process for Canada and Environmental Solutions commercial units.
  • Provide regular updates and communication to internal stakeholders, including the regional leadership team members on pricing and program initiatives, performance metrics, and market trends.
  • Develop a high-performance team and drive a culture of accountability, meritocracy, and inclusiveness.
  • Collaborate with HR on people development, performance management, culture, and engagement priorities.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, finance, or related fields.
  • Advanced degree in marketing or finance, or MBA will be a plus.
  • Overall, 12- 15 years of experience across functional areas of Marketing, Finance, Pricing Programs management areas will be required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective cross-functional relationships specifically with commercial, finance and supply chain leadership and teams.
  • Experience within the agricultural or crop protection industry in North America or Global roles will be preferred.
  • Experience managing pricing through business management systems and tools such as SAP, SFDC, Qlik and Smartsheet’s.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Table, Lookups) and PowerPoint with ability to train others.
