About the role
Internal and external candidates will be considered for this vacancy. For the purposes of this vacancy, internal candidates are defined as staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded or ungraded contract, including Junior Professional Officers (JPOs), staff on Special Leave Without Pay (SLWOP), and staff members on secondment/loan released by the Organization, unless otherwise specified in their contract. Staff members holding a regular, fixed-term or short-term graded contract will not retain their contract type if appointed to an ungraded position.
Context
In close collaboration with national and local authorities and experienced Partners, in the context of the project Helios+: Comprehensive actions for the integration of third-country nationals into the labour market' in the Region of Crete" with MIS Code 6018664 under the Programme "Crete 2021–2027 , IOM aims at promoting the integration of beneficiaries of international protection and temporary protection into the Greek society through activities for employability support, the provision of Greek language courses and vocational training, the support for independent living, including rental subsidies, activities promoting social cohesion and inclusion.
Under the overall supervision of the Regional Coordinator (Crete) and the direct supervision of the Project Team Lead (Employability and Education), the successful candidate will have the following duties and responsibilities:

- Support the supervisor in coordination and overview of work of assigned project team.
- Assist in organizing the workload, providing guidance, support and instructions to assigned Project Team.
- Ensure that a properly equipped and safe working environment is available for the assigned Project Team. Internal and external candidates are eligible to apply to this vacancy. For the purpose of the vacancy, internal candidates are considered as first-tier candidates.
- Support the monitoring of services provided by the implementing partner(s) and service provider(s).
- Support the coordination, collaboration and efficient communication with the implementing partner (s) and service provider(s).
- Support senior management in donor reporting.
- Support the development of methodology and creation of tools, materials and standard operating procedures and oversee their implementation to ensure the provision of quality services and monitoring of the project activities.
- Support the monitoring of the quality of services/ project activities through physical verification, project Means of Verification, visits and report to senior management, as required.
- Collect, verify and update data and Means of Verification.
- Support the communication with other project components, IOM departments and other relevant actors to ensure timely and efficient provision of project activities.
- Submit reports and any other necessary information to senior management in a timely manner.
- Represent, upon coordination with senior management, the project in relevant meetings with employers, employer’s associations, other actors, Working Groups as well as enhance synergies and joint actions.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
- High school degree with minimum three years of relevant experience, or;
- University degree in education and life-long learning, finance and statistics, economics, psychology, social work, law, international relation, human resources, management, business administration, political science, sociology, public administration or any other related field from an accredited academic institution with minimum one year of work experience.
- Master’s degree in the above fields will be considered an advantage.
- At least one year of previous work experience;
- Possess adequate combination of knowledge, education, training experience and skills to perform essential functions of the position;
- Experience in working in a multi-cultural environment preferred.
- Computer literacy in standard software applications;
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;
- Valid driver’s license with at least five years driving experience an advantage.
For this position, fluency in English and Greek is required (oral and written).
