ECHOCARDIOGRAPHER-2515

Under the clinical direction of the Cardiology Coordinator, performs Cardiac Ultrasound and/or Vascular Ultrasound per policy and procedure. Conducts initial patient interview, makes preliminary assessment of test data. Prepares studies for physician interpretation. Works closely with physicians and Cardiology Coordinator to assure accurate and timely test results. The sonographer shall have the ability to provide care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
na Qualifications EDUCATION: Minimum: • Completion of training at an AMA approved school in Ultrasound Preferred: • B.S. degree; Registered Specialist (Ultrasound plus one-year additional training at AMA approved program) LICENSE: PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS: Minimum: • BLS required through the RQI system during clinical orientation • RCS or RDCS credentialed • Registry eligible in cardiac ultrasound WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum: • Two years of cardiac and/or vascular ultrasound experience Preferred: • Arrhythmia experience SKILLS: Minimum: • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and couteous manner. • Ability to enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. • Computer literacy required.
